Are you thinking of moving to Maui but don't know where on Maui you want to call home? Consider Wailuku. When people think of Maui they conjure up towns portrayed in movies and t.v. Party towns like Lahaina, resort communities like Wailea and Kapalua or hippy towns like Paia and the North Shore. Wailuku rarely gets any spotlight but it should as it is home to one of our best and least expensive golf courses, most of our new subdivisions, the majority of shops and ammenities on Maui, cute coffee shops like Cafe Marc Aurel, lots of personality and history, and spectacular views from many of the neighborhoods.
And that's not all. Since Wailuku is one of the oldest communities on Maui you will see old plantation homes and tons of mature landscaping every way you turn. As you enter Wailuku from honoapiilani hwy (just past Maui Tropical Plantation) you will be in awe of the majestic old trees that meet each other in the center to welcome you to the town. Wailuku is being revived by new construction and lots of new residents. The new Kaiser facility and the facelift on the hospital gave Wailuku the makeover it needed. Major retailers are moving into the area. Companies like Whole Foods consider it a hot spot and so should you! Gina and I tout Wailuku has having the best deals on houses currently as there are builders with a surplus of homes offering outrageous incentives for you to purchase now. For example, as of this blog The Legends at Maui Lani was offering a move in incentive of just $1000 to move into one of their homes. No other monies needed. Of course you still have to qualify for the loan but if you make a significant amount of money and are simply strapped for cash this could be the deal of the year for you. Other builders are offering landscaping and huge credits back to the buyer. And since all of these new homes are centrally located no matter where you work-Wailuku is within commute.
There's another reason to think about investing in Wailuku. Pacific Business News recently named Wailuku #20 on their "List" of wealthiest zipcodes in Hawaii. Tha'ts right! Just to give you a reference point Kihei came in at #29. If you want a better idea on what's going on in Wailuku just email us or call us and we'll fill you in.
